Remembering Silver Jubilee

Five years ago, on Feb 17-19 2006, we celebrated Art of Living‘s 25th anniversary with a huge gathering in Bangalore, India. People from all over the world came together to celebrate our common humanity and the peace and love that is in everyone’s heart. Here is a video of the event.

My Journey

I ask myself the question, how did I get into the Art of Living? The moment after hearing the intro talk I was ready. Having a Sufi background helped me immensely. I was a seeker of truth and I still am. I feel now I have arrived at a point where all the dots are connected. Sri Sri has a way of doing that. Everything is much clearer and more coherent. For me it was simple as that.

Working with the YES (Youth Empowerment Seminar) program, going to the various schools has really become a passion of mine. When you see how many of these young people respond it brings tears to you. Many of the schools don’t have a clue about how to teach the life skills we give the students. They are searching and we have an answer. I think we have the best program out here. As the schools see the value of the YES program there will be a greater demand. I see the YES program becoming an integral part of the school curriculum. We have a YES teacher at a charter school in Chicago and that’s all she does. In many schools it has become a part of the Physical Education department.

I recently went on our web site at: . I saw how in West Africa two different groups one Muslim and the other animist were killing one another. Once the Muslims learned the Sudarshan Kriya (breathing technique) they were able to see the animist as one with them. This was amazing. The power of the breath is so powerful. Now this is real power!
